When you issue a digital certificate at Clever Certificates, you can enable QR Code Verification. This adds a unique QR code to the certificate that anyone can scan to instantly confirm the certificate is genuine.

What the QR code does

Each QR code links to a dedicated verification page hosted at verify.clevercertificates.com. The page shows:

  • The recipient's name
  • The certificate title and issuing organisation
  • The date of issue
  • A confirmation that the certificate is authentic and has not been altered

The verification page is publicly accessible — no account is needed to check a certificate.

Who can use QR verification?

QR Code Verification is available on Academy Pro and paid single-certificate purchases that include the Verify add-on. It is not available on the free Web Pack download.

How to enable it

  1. Select your template and complete your design in the editor.
  2. At checkout, choose the QR Verification add-on (or it is included automatically with Academy Pro).
  3. After purchase, the QR code is embedded on the certificate automatically.
  4. Download the certificate — the QR code is already printed on it.

Can I add QR codes to bulk orders?

QR verification on bulk orders (multiple recipients) is on our roadmap. At this time, QR codes are supported on single-certificate purchases. Each certificate gets its own unique QR code pointing to its own verification page.

Can recipients share the verification link?

Yes. The verification URL is permanent and shareable. Recipients can include it in email signatures, LinkedIn profiles, or resumes so anyone can verify their credential with one click.
